The Emergency Action Plan is essential for every hockey team at every level of the game, and is crucial in making sure steps are in place to handle serious injury situations. A properly-managed Emergency Action Plan will save valuable time, help with attending to an injured player until medical assistance arrives, and allow for proper medical referral of the injur

Report All Injuries

A branch specific Hockey Canada Injury Report form must be completed for each and every serious injury, accident or death that occurs to a Hockey Alberta member during any sanctioned event.

The player, parents and team must work in conjunction to ensure that these reports are completely and accurately filled in and submitted to the Hockey Alberta office within 90 days of the incident through your Division Director.

A CONCUSSION is a serious event, but you can recover fully from such an injury if the brain is given enough time to rest and recuperate. Returning to normal activities, including sport participation, is a step-wise process that requires patience, attention, and caution. Each step must take a minimum of one day, but could last longer depending on the player and his or her specific situation.
